(Santa Barbara, CA)- Why not!? Larry & Becky Harteck, active members of the Santa Barbara J/105 fleet, decided to do exactly that with their two sons- heading for the Channel Islands! According to Larry:“We were at Santa Cruz Island for three days without any cell service!
Our son, Nick, is exploring a cave (an underwater ‘grotto’) that goes back at least a 100 feet and opens up to 2 large ‘rooms’.We anchored at Lady's Harbor in absolutely perfect conditions! So nice to enjoy the sounds of nature, hiking adventures ashore, swimming and exploring with the kids!”
We could not agree more with this idea. Disconnecting from anything electronic and interacting with your environment in a family setting is a wonderful way to spend time with your kids!
