Why J/70 Sailor Suzy Leech is “Driving the Bus”
(Key West, FL)- In the March 2014 SAILING Magazine issue, Contributing
Editor Betsy Crowfoot had a chance to catch up with Suzy Leech, a
Jamestown, Rhode Island resident that has been campaigning her J/70
JUNKANOO.

In
Key West Race Week, Suzy had aboard her team some very talented women
sailors- in fact, they were the only all-women team sailing amongst the
fleet’s eight women skippers (women skippers comprised 13.0% of the
fleet!).

Joining
Suzy were America’s Cup team-mates Katie Pettibone and Dawn Riley and
also top-ranked 470 sailor, Elizabeth Kratzig. Collectively, this crew
had several decades of both top-level, Olympic class dinghy racing but
also tens of thousands of miles of offshore racing experience.
