(Marion, MA)- The 22nd running of the Marion to Bermuda Race will
certainly go down in the records books as one of the fastest races ever,
with most boats finishing in around 58 hours elapsed time- making for
about an 11.3 kts average for the 40 to 45 footers across the race
track. A favorable Gulf Stream meander certainly helped boost the
fleet’s COG/ SOG speeds and angles! Hosted by the Beverly Yacht Club, Blue Water Sailing Club and the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, the fleet of boats took off on Friday June 14th at 12 noon in a solid breeze that never let up for a majority of the race.
This year’s Founder’s Division had thirty-nine entries. Taking fifth place in the Founders B Division was the J/46 MOJO sailed by Eric & Robert Grubman from Milford, CT.
