J/80s at SPI OUEST the previous fortnight. Sailing with J/France West Brittany dealer, PL Yachting, was the famous French offshore sailor "
Nicolas Troussel", the past Figaro race winner and offshore Figaro annual championship winner. Also joining them in the 93 boat J/80 class was
Jean Galfione, the old
French Gold Medallist at the
Olympic Games (pole vaulting)! Apparently, Jean said handling the J/80 foredeck duties with a carbon pole, the horizontal variety, was "tres simple"!
